Manchester United Football Club are preparing a £20milion bid for Jack Rodwell.

According to the News of the World, Sir Alex Ferguson will make a move for the highly-rated Everton youngster in the summer, just like he took Wayne Rooney from the Toffees in 2003.

It is being suggested that the Reds will offer an initial payment of £8million for Rodwell, followed by two further instalments of £5million each depending on appearances, then another £2million when he makes his inevitable bow with the England national side.

However, just last week David Moyes insisted he was under no pressure to sell any of his key players, and the 19-year-old surely falls into this category.
