Sir Alex Ferguson was delighted to see Manchester United Football Club return to the head of the Premier League table on Sunday afternoon.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea won on Saturday to nudge the Reds down to third place, but a brace by Wayne Rooney and a Dimitar Berbatov goal saw off the tough challenge of Fulham.

“I'm delighted," Ferguson told Sky Sports. "Fulham made us work hard and made us chase for possession. They have some very clever and very experienced players. They made it difficult for us."

This now sees United return to the top of the table on 66 points, two points ahead of the Gunners and the Blues, although the latter still have a game in hand.
