Gerrard could have Manchester City option
11:00 AM 16 March, 2010
Manchester City Football Club could flex their considerable financial muscle in the summer to pull off the sensational capture of Steven Gerrard.

It has long been thought that the England international would remain at Liverpool for the rest of his career, but a poor season from the Reds could force a change of mind.

Reports in the Daily Star Sunday claim Spanish giants Real Madrid want to rebuild their midfield around Gerrard, with claims of a £30million bid being mooted.

However, it is also being suggested that City, who have been linked with the midfielder’s team-mate Fernando Torres, are also keen on the 29-year-old.

Gerrard is desperate to win the Premier League before hanging up his boots, and as much as he would love this to be with the Reds, he is likely to have a better chance at Eastlands.

As elder I advice Captain Gerrad never think of leaving Liverpool . GOD forbid we will not like to see what happen to Steve Macnamohan and M Owen all were Liverpool high profile players when they left and join Real Madrid . Money is not everything in this world you may be a billionare but they are things which makes you unhappy . Dear Captain , Please think twice on leaving Liverpool Hussein Abbas Mob: +254-720612905/735036612 Mombasa , Kenya

I highly doubt Torres or Gerrard will leave. Rumors like this have been happening all year. Torres has 3 years left on his contract. He's calling for the purchase of more world-class players! This is all nonsense.

I think Liverpool owners will be forced to sell their parts and save the club or pressurized. Torres and Gerard do not leave the club, for they do not get treated, albeit the money is lower. Liverpool get the fourth position if they at leat draw at oldtraford, which is possible.

Liverpool were allway's my favourite other team when they deservedly dominated England and Europe, but now in decline they remind me of how man u was when Liverpool was better then them, they have gone bitter, jelous, nasty and arrogant like Benitez with an 'how dare you beat us attitude' when clearly not good enough, the blues are coming at last City and Everton

Kmur - as you ssay HISTORY BEHIND Liverpool, that's all you have and by the looks of it you will have to keep harping on about it for years to come, because the future ain't bright for the Mickey Mousers mate. Gerard should have and could have left Anfield years ago, fair enough he stayed but the club has gone backwards under the Spanish waiter. Personally I don't want Gerard, it's an age old debate, I'd rather have Lampard but theres no chance of getting him, I'd go all out to get for Torres and see how much of a Liverpool fan he is when we start negotiatons, the futures bright, the futures SKY BLUE...C'mon CITY

gman -make sense if you are going to comment - you don't. Kmur, City have silverware if you care to go back far enough. The question is who has the best chance of silverware going forward. You think Liverpool do ? Dream on mate.
