Gonzalo Higuain is a major summer target for Manchester City Football Club.

The Argentine striker is Real Madrid’s top scorer this season, yet amazingly, his future at the Bernabeu club has been shrouded in uncertainly of late.

Higuain is keen on a new contract which would take him close to top earners such as Cristiano Ronaldo, but the offer of £90,000-per-week falls well short.

Widespread reports claim City are now prepared to flex their considerable financial muscle once again in the summer, to take the 22-year-old to Eastlands in a £25million deal.

This would further boost Roberto Mancini’s options up front, with Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor, Craig Bellamy and Roque Santa Cruz already at the club, not to mention Robinho.
