Huseklepp decides against Stoke City option
Erik Huseklepp has signed a new contract with SK Brann, despite interest from Stoke City Football Club in signing him during the summer.
Tony Pulis has been heavily linked with making a move for the Norway international when the window reopens, after he failed to lure him to England in January.
However, the 25-year-old forward has decided against a lucrative move to the Premier League, and has instead signed a new deal which keeps him at his present club until 2013.
“I am pleased,” Huseklepp told TV2. “I can now concentrate on football. I could have waited until my contract expires, but I don’t want to leave the club on a free transfer.”
Whether this last remark indicated he would consider a move away from Brann in the future, it seems certain he will stay for at least another season.
