Is Fulham boss destined for England call?
After his Fulham Football Club side produced a simply sensational performance to dump the mighty Juventus out of the Europa League, is Roy Hodgson destined for the England job?
The Cottagers trailed the Bianconeri 3-1 from the first leg of the last sixteen tie last week, and things looked worse when David Trezeguet opened the scoring in London in the early stages.
However, goals from Bobby Zamora, a brace from Zoltan Gera and a late wonder goal from Clint Dempsey gave Fulham a sensational win against a Juve side who ended the game with nine men.
“We conceded a goal after one minute and 40 seconds or something,” said Hodgson, “but I was really impressed by how the players put that behind them and carried on playing.
"I still thought we could win the game. When Bobby equalised and we got the second I thought, who knows? We could do something if we played as well in the second half and that happened."
It remains to be seen how long Fabio Capello plans to stay around as England coach, but when the Italian does stand down, Hodgson is in a very good position to succeed him.
