Bastian Schweinsteiger has played down reports of a summer move to Chelsea Football Club.

Carlo Ancelotti wants to spend heavily on his ageing squad in the summer, and widespread reports claim German international Schweinsteiger is a top target.

However, as much as the 25-year-old admires the game in England, he is under contract at Bayern Munich until the summer of 2012 and has no plans of leaving just yet.

"I have extended my contract with Bayern Munich until 2012 and I assume that I will play for this club for even longer than that," said Schweinsteiger.

"I would hope that our relationship can continue to develop in the future. But many things are possible. The atmosphere in English stadiums is unique and the standard of play is very high.”
