The agent of Per Mertesacker is remaining coy on speculation linking the defender with AC Milan.

Reports in Italy claim the Rossoneri are prepared to pay €10million for the German international in the summer, as they look to bolster their back four.

Mertesacker is currently contacted to Werder Bremen in his homeland, and his agent is remaining tight-lipped on the speculation of a move to the San Siro.

"The rumours on Milan? We don't comment on rumours. If there was something true, then I would certainly not be telling the press," Guido Nikolai told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

"What I can say is that the player has a contract with Werder until 2012."
