Arsenal still have van Persie hope
02:00 PM 21 March, 2010
Arsene Wenger hopes Robin van Persie will return to Arsenal Football Club this season.

The Dutch forward suffered a serious ankle injury during international duty back in November, and it was initially expected that he would miss the rest of the season.

However, van Persie is making good progress, and Wenger hopes to have his leading marksman back towards the end of the Gunners push for glory in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

"There is still a little chance for Robin van Persie this season," the French coach revealed in his programme notes ahead of the 2-0 win over West Ham United on Saturday.

“Once he is ready to kick the ball again and returns from his rehabilitation, it will still take him another three weeks. This means that, even if he came back next week, adding another three weeks on would still take him nearly into May."

Very good news, with only 3 points separating the top 3, he might just be the ammunition we need. Often wonder how the table would look had he remained injury free.
