Real Madrid to push ahead with Maicon interest
04:00 PM 21 March, 2010
Real Madrid are set to move for Maicon when the transfer window reopens.

The Spanish giants have long been linked with the Brazilian international, who is currently plying his trade in Italy with Jose Mourinho’s Internazionale.

It is being reported that Los Blancos want Maicon in their back four next season, and his agent admits there is indeed interest in the 28-year-old.

“It's not news that Maicon is being followed by several European clubs,” Antonio Caliendo told calciomercato.it. “At least three teams have been trying to buy him for a number of years.”

Manchester City, managed by former Inter coach Roberto Mancini, have also been heavily linked with Maicon in the past, whilst Chelsea are also amongst his admirers.
