Rafael Benitez believes Fernando Torres will still be at Liverpool Football Club next season.

There have been widespread reports that failure to finish in the top four in the Premier League this term could result in the Reds cashing in on their £50million-rated Torres.

Manchester City have been heavily linked with the Spanish international striker, but when asked by the News of the World if the Kop should fear his departure, Benitez was adamant.

"I don't think so. We don't want to sell Fernando to anybody. I can talk with him and we can go forward,” said the former Valencia coach.

"He makes his own decisions but Fernando is a professional who plays hard and is really happy here. He knows we have a lot of good players at the club."
