West Ham United dream of Beckham capture
05:30 PM 21 March, 2010
West Ham United Football Club would love to sign David Beckham.

The England international, who is out of the World Cup with a ruptured Achilles tendon, is currently on loan at AC Milan although he is contracted to American side LA Galaxy.

Hammers co-owner David Gold has revealed how he would love to take 35-year-old Beckham, born in Leytonstone, to Upton Park in the future.

"David keeps on showing he still has so much to offer and if he's available then we want to be bidding,” he told the News of the World.

"It's not only a case of what he can do on the pitch but what he does off it - he'd be a sensational ambassador for his home-town club.

"He's a local boy like the two owners and this could appeal to him. It's not fanciful as he has so much to offer. His arrival would be massive."
