Hodgson won’t place Fulham in financial danger
04:30 PM 22 March, 2010
Roy Hodgson is wary of plunging Fulham Football Club in financial trouble.

The Londoners have made huge progress since avoiding relegation in dramatic scenes in the 2007/08 season, having finished high enough to quality for the UEFA Europa League last season.

They are in the last eight of the tournament this term having beat Juventus in sensational circumstances, whilst only Tottenham Hotspur stand in their way of an FA Cup semi-final.

Some fans are now expecting the Cottagers to push for a place in the top-six of the Premier League next season, but Hodgson will not risk the financial security of the club.

"The club's existence is more important than short-term gain,” he said. "It would be unwise of me to say that we should try to break into that top six by breaking the bank."
