£22million Lescott denied Everton return
Manchester City’s Joleon Lescott will not face his former club on Wednesday night.
The England international left Everton for City in a controversial £22million summer move, which left him as enemy number one in the blue half of Merseyside.
Roberto Mancini takes his top-four hopefuls to Goodison Park this week, but he is likely to be without Lescott, who picked up a hamstring injury before the 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday.
“During the warm-up he pulled his hamstring," Mancini told Sky Sports. "I think it'll be impossible for him to play on Wednesday. At the moment I don't know how long he'll be out. He'll have a scan."
