Craig Gordon would be ideal for Manchester United
05:00 PM 09 April, 2010
Andy Goram reckons Manchester United Football Club should sign Craig Gordon.

Although Edwin van der Sar has agreed to stay on at Old Trafford for another season, Sir Alex Ferguson knows he will soon have to replace the 39-year-old goalkeeper.

And Goram, who had a brief spell at United early last decade, recommends that his former boss should call on a fellow Scot in the shape of Sunderland’s Gordon.

“Craig is now showing just why Sunderland shelled out big money for him,” he told the Scottish Sun. “I’d like to see him at a really big club where he’s perhaps only called upon once or twice.

“He’s a great shot stopper, he has quick feet, and I believe he’d be ideally suited to a club like Manchester United. Having played there myself, I know he has all the attributes you need.”

Gordon, 27, cost the Black Cats £9million when he joined from Hearts in the summer of 2007, and the 40-times-capped Scotland international is under contract until 2012.
