Everton Football Club are set to step up their interest in Jermaine Beckford.
The 26-year-old is now available on a free transfer, after the final month of his contract at Leeds United was cancelled on Friday.
David Moyes is keen to add the striker to his squad at Goodison Park this summer, and reports suggest he will be speaking to the player shortly.
Beckford enjoyed a good season in League One during 2009-2010, helping the Whites to promotion and scoring the goal to eliminate Manchester United from the FA Cup in January.
