Gills double raid on Reading & Fulham
Gillingham have bolstered their squad for next season by signing teenage strikers Stefan Payne and Andrew White on free transfers.
Payne has signed a two-year contract after being released by Fulham, while White has accepted a 12-month deal following his departure from Reading.
New Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler is hoping he has unearthed two players with a bright future after revealing the deals are not a major gamble for the League Two club.
"They're young and are no real risk to us, but they could be a couple of gems," said Hessenthaler.
"We'll bring them in and work with them and see how they develop. We don't know too much about them, but there's no risk to it financially.
"I believe we can work with these boys and they could be a couple of gems."
