Manchester United Football Club do NOT want to sign Joe Cole this summer.

The England international will leave Chelsea when he returns from World Cup duty in South Africa, after the Blues decided against renewing his contract.

Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked, but Harry Redknapp, manager of the latter, believes the player may have already agreed to join United.

However, just hours after the Spurs boss comments came to light, the Guardian are reporting that the Reds have categorically denied an interest in Cole.

This could be seen as something of a surprise considering Sir Alex Ferguson has always been a fan, and it leaves the Gunners as favourites to land the midfielder.
