Wigan Athletic Football Club have signed Richard Kingson.

The Ghanaian international goalkeeper was a free agent after leaving Birmingham City at the end of last season, and Steve Bruce has handed him a three-year deal at t he JJB Stadium.

"He's a really decent keeper," said the Latics manager.

"You don't play nearly 60 times for one of the top 20 nations in the world without having something about you and I think he'll add real competition to the squad here."
