Mido seeks fresh Middlesbrough chance
04:00 PM 27 June, 2010
Mido wants a fresh chance at Middlesbrough Football Club.

The 27-year-old has yet to play under new Boro manager Gordon Strachan, having spent last season on loan at Zamalek and West Ham United.

Mido has just one more year left on his contract at the Riverside Stadium, and although he is being tipped for a summer exit, he is prepared to play in the Championship next season.

"I explained to Middlesbrough at a meeting two weeks ago that I have a year left on my contract and want to stay and help get them back into the top flight," he told the Sunday Sun.

"They had wanted to know how I was thinking, and I was clear in saying I would love to stay, get my head down and work hard to take Boro where they need to go.

"I strongly feel that, with the passion of the fans and the potential of the club, we should be right up the table fighting to get back into the Premier League.

“Boro should be in the Premier League - they've done so much over the last 10 years. Now, I want to help get them back where they belong."
