Kris Boyd continues to wait for a call from Newcastle United Football Club.

The 26-year-old striker is available on a free transfer during the summer, when his existing contract at Scottish champions Rangers comes to an end.

Boyd has been linked with a number of clubs from home and abroad, but the Sunday Sun claims he is holding out for concrete interest from Newcastle.

Magpies boss Chris Hughton has been rumoured to be interested in the Scotland international, but he is yet to make his move and could miss out if he doesn’t act quickly.

Boyd may be unproven in England, but his record of 125 goals in 174 domestic appearances for the Gers would surely make him a risk worth taking.
