Arsenal see Krul as long-term number one
Arsenal Football Club are again being linked with Tim Krul.
After growing frustrated with both Manuel Almunia and Lukas Fabianski last season, Arsene Wenger is closing in on Fulham’s number one Mark Schwarzer.
However, reports in The Mirror claim the Gunners see Newcastle United’s Dutch shot-stopper Krul as their long-term solution, and are set to make a bid in the coming weeks.
This isn’t the first time Wenger has been linked with the 22-year-old, who last year denied he was set for the Emirates Stadium by pledging his long-term future to the Magpies.
"Of course there will always be interest from other clubs but I want to stay here,” he told the Sunday Sun. “I feel like a Geordie now. I’m starting to talk like a Geordie. It’s a great city and a great club.”
