O'Neil receives Middlesbrough challenge
Gary O'Neil finally got off the mark for Middlesbrough Football Club in midweek.
The former Portsmouth star scored his first goal for Boro since arriving on Teesside in August 2007 in the 2-0 win over Manchester City, and Gareth Southgate has urged him to find the net more often.
"He's tried everything - he's grown his hair long, cut it off, grown a beard and shaved that off too," said the Riverside Stadium manager to Sky Sports. "But Gary is a smashing kid to work with.
"He's got bags of energy and enthusiasm and he's a leader of the group. That will give him great confidence the next time he's in front of goal."
