If Eduardo ever comes good again, then we have enough attacking players. But if he's offloaded or plays like he did last season, then I think we could do with one more forward at the club.
Last season, we had one striker too few. I said that before the season started, but everyone seemed to disagree. Then when Robin van Persie got crocked our season petered out.
I really don't know why the club didn't strengthen that department in January with the title up for grabs. It just seems like the club are always putting money before glory.
Prudence is all very well in other businesses, but football has a different set of rules, I think. I don't want the club to go bust pursuing an impossible dream, but when the Premier League is within sight and the club can only bring in one ageing defender in Sol Campbell to make that final assault it seems to me there's something very wrong.
Then we're told there will be new signings, but it looks like more experience has left the club than has come in. Chamakh's a great talent, but no Premier League experience. Koscielny is an unknown quantity.
Meanwhile, we've lost the experience of Sol, William Gallas and love him or loathe him Silvestre. I could have sworn Wenger said he was going to bring in more experience this season, but so far he has not managed to do it. Of course, he still has time to do that. But I suspect we're not going to see a lot more action in the transfer market this summer from Arsenal. I hope I'm wrong.
