Tottenham Hotspur to end James interest
David James is no longer an option for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Harry Redknapp was tipped to take the England international from his former club Portsmouth this summer, as he looks for competition for Heurelho Gomes.
James, 39, is out of contract and available on a free, but the Spurs manager has revealed his goalkeeper target is Croatian international Stipe Pletikosa.
The Spartak Moscow number one is being lined up for a move to White Hart Lane, where he would join compatriots Luka Modric, Niko Kranjcar and Vedran Corluka.
“We might be taking another Croatian, goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa, we have every chance. We might be getting him and that’s good,” Redknapp told Croatian Soccer Report.
“I would say the best boys I’ve ever managed in my life have been Croatian. I’m not just saying that. I think they are fantastic.”
