Beattie swaying towards Stoke City stay
James Beattie is believed to be swaying towards staying at Stoke City Football Club.
The 32-year-old striker had a bitter bust-up with Potters manager Tony Pulis last Christmas, and he has been heavily linked with an exit from the club this summer.
Blackburn Rovers and Rangers are believed to be interested in taking the former England international, but his current wage package is causing a problem.
It is now being suggested that Beattie, who arrived at the Britannia Stadium for £3million in January 2009, has decided to remain at the club and fight for his place in the side.
If the striker can recapture the form he first showed for Pulis’ side when he signed from Sheffield United, his continued service would be a welcome boost for the club.
