Adebayor happy to fight for Manchester City place
07:00 PM 28 July, 2010
Emmanuel Adebayor insists he is happy at Manchester City Football Club.

Although the Togo international has only been at Eastlands since last summer, he has been linked with a move to Juventus as Roberto Mancini continues to reshape his Eastlands squad.

However, Adebayor, 26, insists he is planning to remain with the Blues, where he is preparing to beat off all competition to establish himself as the club’s top striker.

"If you're not at the top of your game, you're going to be sitting on the bench," he said. "I understand that, that's normal at a good team. I'm always motivated when I go out on the pitch.

“We love playing football and we have to be ready for the challenge. A lot of good players are coming in but I still want to be the No.1 striker and that is what I am trying to do.”
