Emmanuel Adebayor believes Manchester City Football Club are growing as a team.

Whilst most would say the Blues are growing as a squad as they continue to add expensive signings to their ranks, Adebayor has been impressed with their pre-season preparation.

City open the campaign with a trip to last season’s fourth-placed side Tottenham Hotspur, and the 26-year-old Togo international is confident he and his team-mates will be ready for the test.

“The most important thing is on August 14 against Tottenham Hotspur,” the striker told Sky Sports. "That's where we can put pressure on and show we are at the top.

“We are working really hard. Working, training and playing is not easy but for me now the team is growing up and every time we are getting better."
