Michael Mancienne has emerged as a target for Newcastle United Football Club.

The 22-year-old has been unable to force his way into Chelsea first team plans on a regular basis, and has spent much of the past two seasons on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Mancienne has revealed earlier this summer that he now wants to settle down, sparking widespread speculation that he could be set for a permanent move.

And whilst reports he has handed in a transfer request have been quashed, Mick McCarthy would love to take him back to Molineux, and Sporting Lisbon are also keen.

However, latest reports suggest Chris Hughton, the Newcastle manager, is also considering a move for the versatile player, who can operate in defence or midfield.
