Barcelona bore still on Fabregas trail
01:30 PM 10 August, 2010
Xavi is refusing to let Barcelona’s interest in Cesc Fabregas pass.

In the longest running transfer saga of the summer, the Spanish giants have been like a dog with a bone in their pursuit of the Arsenal captain.

It looked as though this episode had reached a close last week when, having seen two bids rejected, Fabregas confirmed he would stay at the Gunners this season.

However, it appears as though the Camp Nou side are eager to unsettle their former youth team player, with Xavi revealing a bid could be forthcoming in January.

“If Arsenal are way behind Chelsea and Manchester United in the league by the January transfer window, he will be even more disheartened,” he said in the Daily Star Sunday.

“If that is the case then I don’t see how they could stop him coming in January. Nobody at Barcelona has given up on Cesc. We have made that very clear.”
