Black Cats want £12million Tottenham striker – but would it be safe for Harry to let him go?
08:30 PM 03 November, 2008
Sunderland Football Club are desperate to land Darren Bent in the New Year.

The England international has failed to make the intended impact since leaving Charlton Athletic for Tottenham Hotspur, in a £16.5million deal last summer.

It is being reported that Roy Keane is hoping to persuade Harry Redknapp to part with Bent when the transfer window reopens, with an offer of £12million being prepared.

However, with Spurs not anywhere near where they want to be in the Premier League table, Redknapp is unlikely to let one of his potential match-winners leave White Hart Lane in mid-season.
