Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have made an enquiry for Steven Pienaar.

The South African international, 28-years-old, is in the final twelve months of his contract at Everton, who are struggling to tie him down to a new deal.

According to Graham Hunter on talkSPORT, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been in touch with the Merseyside club on Monday to ask about the midfielder.

Although David Moyes has revealed he would be happy to let Pienaar run down his contract, the Toffees would be hard pushed to refuse a sizeable bid.

Harry Redknapp will now be hoping a deal can be concluded for the player before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday at 6pm.
