West Ham United Football Club have confirmed the arrival of two new players.

As expected, the Londoners have had their deal for defender Lars Jacobsen rubberstamped by the Premier League, who joins on a free transfer from Blackburn Rovers.

Avram Grant will be hoping the 30-year-old Danish international can help shore up a defence which has leaked three goals in each of their opening three Premier League fixtures.

The Hammers have also confirmed the signing of Belgian goalkeeper Ruud Boffin from MVV Maastricht, after he impressed during a trial period with the club.
