Lucas could have been West Ham United bound
01:00 PM 02 September, 2010
Lucas Leiva was offered to West Ham United Football Club on deadline day, claim reports.

As the clock ticked down to the closure of the summer window, Liverpool coach Roy Hodgson was desperate to strike a deal for Hammers frontman Carlton Cole.

Indeed, the Reds even sent their club doctor down south in anticipation of concluding a medical, but they couldn’t agree terms with the Upton Park club.

It is being claimed in The Guardian that Hodgson offered the Londoners the services of Lucas for their 26-year-old England ace, but such a proposal never materialised.
