Nemanja Vidic is delighted to lead Manchester United Football Club, but he insists he is not one of the true leaders at the Old Trafford side.

With Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville sidelined this season, Vidic has moved ahead of Patrice Evra to take the armband, even when Ryan Giggs is on the pitch.

This is an honour the Serbian international takes huge pride in, but he admits he doesn’t compare with the players he feels are the real leaders at United.

“We all know the captains of the team are Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand," he said. "They are the real leaders. The other players follow how they do things.

"They don't have to do anything special. They just have to be themselves and an example for the rest of us. When they are not on the pitch, I just try to do my best and use my experience.”
