Marco Branca has slammed the Internazionale fans disappointed by the lack of real transfer activity by the club during the summer transfer window.

The Nerazzurri won the Treble of Serie A, Copa Italia and UEFA Champions League last season, before Jose Mourinho left the San Siro for Real Madrid.

New coach Rafael Benitez has been unable to make a splash during the transfer window, and many fans have voiced their disapproval of this on internet message boards.

However, technical director Branca has hit back at the criticism, telling Corriere dello Sport: “I do not understand the disappointment of the Inter fans.

"We have kept the team that led us to so many triumphs last season and the real coup was keeping Maicon [who was wanted by Real], the best defender in the world.”
