Jose Mourinho failed to add Samuel Eto’o to his Real Madrid squad on deadline day.

The Special One signed the Cameroon international whilst in charge at Internazionale last summer, and he helped the Italians win the Treble.

Reports in El Mundo Deportivo claim Mourinho had been in touch with his former employers on deadline day, in a bid to take the former Barcelona hotshot to the Bernabeu.

However, it is suggested that Real president Florentino Perez but the blocks on a deal for Eto’o, as Los Blancos already have Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain.
