Johnson excited over Manchester City potential
03:30 PM 05 September, 2010
Michael Johnson is sure he can become a better player when he lines up alongside the big stars at Manchester City Football Club.

The 22-year-old midfielder was once rated as one of the biggest prospects in the country, but his career has been badly derailed with injury problems.

However, Johnson, who has not played since last October, hopes to be back in contention in December, and he feels he can’t help but improve in Roberto Mancini’s star-studded squad.

"It will be great to play in a really good team. It's easy to forget that we were just a mid-table team not long ago," he told City's website. "We had some decent players, some very good players.

“But as a team we were doing average. It would be so easy to play in this team. Having those sort of quality players around you makes it easier."
