Andrei Kanchelskis has dropped a bombshell in his assessment of Andrei Arshavin.

The former Manchester United winger, who helped the Reds to a first league title in 26 years back in 1993, is an ex-Russian international.

Speaking of his compatriot Arshavin, the 41-year-old has labelled the Arsenal star as overrated, and not consistent enough to be considered a great.

“Arshavin is overrated. He has been praised too much. He hasn’t shown brilliance for a very long time. The main thing is consistency, which Arshavin doesn’t have,” said Kanchelskis.
