Scholes form delays Manchester United Rodwell bid
The form of Paul Scholes was enough for Sir Alex Ferguson to decide making a last-gasp move for Everton Football Club’s Jack Rodwell, claims the Manchester Evening News.
It is no secret that the Manchester United manager is a huge admirer of the young midfielder, who has also displayed his quality as a defender for the Toffees.
During the build-up to deadline day it was rumoured that the Reds were about to make their move for the England Under-21 international, who is rated in the region of £20million.
However, the MEN claim Ferguson decided to postpone his offer for Rodwell due to the form of Scholes, 35, who has been playing some sensational football this season.
If United had made a bid it is unlikely David Moyes would have entertained a sale, especially as the 19-year-old signed a new deal at Goodison Park earlier this year.
