Jagielka in the England side to stay
Phil Jagielka insists he is in the England side to stay, as he prepares for his second outing in the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.
Due to injuries to both Rio Ferdinand and John Terry, Jagielka started against Bulgaria on Friday night and was superb in the 4-0 win at Wembley.
The Everton defender will keep his place for the trip to Switzerland on Tuesday night, and he admits he is looking beyond the clash in Basel.
"It's always hard to displace players like JT and Rio. But I would like to think I can,” said Jagielka. "If they come back and they get picked, they are not bad players to be behind.
"But I'd like to put real pressure on them, that's what the manager wants. If I can keep playing international football and keeping clean sheets then, hopefully, it cranks up the pressure a bit."
