No Manchester City interest in Serie A ace
Manchester City Football Club did not make a summer approach for Sebastien Frey.
The Blues had been considering signing another goalkeeper to act as cover for Joe Hart, after Shay Given revealed an interest in leaving Eastlands on loan.
It had been reported that Roberto Mancini had set his sights on Frey, following Fiorentina’s signing of Artur Boruc from Celtic.
However, the Frenchman remains in Florence and his agent Giovanni Branchini insists the Premier League club never made an approach for his client.
"There wasn't any offer from Manchester City for Frey, it didn't arrive to me and - from what I know - neither to [sporting director Pantaleo] Corvino,” he told violanews.com
Given, meanwhile, was denied a move during the summer window despite interest from Arsenal and Fulham, and has vowed to fight to dislodge Hart from the line-up.
