Robin van Persie faces six weeks out of action for Arsenal Football Club.

The Dutch international missed the majority of the 2009-2010 season, which, Arsene Wenger believes, was a key reason for another trophyless season for the Gunners.

Van Persie made his first start of the season last week against Blackburn Rovers, but he took a knock on his ankle and was replaced during the first half.

It has now been confirmed that the forward will be absent for Wenger’s side for six weeks, which is a huge blow even at this early stage of the campaign.
