Pennant targets Stoke City stay
07:30 PM 08 September, 2010
Jermaine Pennant aims to win a permanent contract at Stoke City Football Club.

The 27-year-old arrived at the Britannia Stadium on deadline day from Real Zaragoza, in a loan move which is set to expire in the New Year.

However, by that time Pennant, who has also played for Arsenal and Liverpool, hopes to have persuaded Tony Pulis to take up the option of a permanent deal.

"I've missed the Premier League," the winger told Sky Sports. "It's just a great league to play in. I know the league, I've played my whole career in the Premier League.

"Coming back here is nothing new to me, I know what's expected. I'm just going to do the best for myself and see what happens come January. "

"My first mission is to help Stoke climb the table, do the best for them and then for myself as well. We'll see what happens in January and if I can get a permanent (deal) then great."
