Michael Owen remains hopeful of adding to his international caps for England.
The 30-year-old has made 89 appearances for his country and only three players have scored more than his 40 goals: Bobby Charlton (49), Gary Lineker (48) and Jimmy Greaves (44).
However, the Manchester United ace has not represented the Three Lions for two years now, and many feel he could have played his last game at international level.
But in a question and answer session at Manchester’s Mount Carmel RC Primary School, the striker revealed he still aims to force his way into Fabio Capello’s plans.
"I played basically right the way through until about two years ago, which was my last game. So hopefully I will play for them again one day, you never know,” said Owen.
