Beattie looking for regular Rangers start
James Beattie is determined to become a key player for Rangers Football Club.
The former England international has only been at Ibrox Stadium since the summer, but fitness problems mean he has only been involved six times this season.
But after appearing as a sub in the UEFA Champions League loss to Manchester United this week, he is now hoping to persuade Walter Smith to hand him more starts.
"No player likes to be out injured, especially when they're in their first season with a club and with so much to prove,” Beattie told the Daily Record.
"Fingers crossed I can stay injury free and force my way into the gaffer's plans. I hope I get a chance to do something, starting against Dundee United on Sunday."
