Liverpool ready to take Cassano gamble
04:00 PM 29 November, 2010
Liverpool Football Club are ready to offer Antonio Cassano a move to England.

The forward is often considered to be one of the most promising talents to emerge from Italy in recent years, but he is in danger of wasting his undoubted talent.

Now 28, Cassano has had spells with Bari, Roma and even Real Madrid, before pitching up at Sampdoria in an initial loan spell in 2007 which was made permanent.

However, the Italian international’s controversial career has took another twist this week, with reports suggesting he has had a huge bust-up with the club’s president.

Cassano reportedly failed to attend a club event, and reports in Italy claim this could well lead to his departure when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

Internazionale are prepared to hand the player another chance in Serie A, but tuttomercatoweb claim Roy Hodgson could be about to offer him a move to the Premier League.

The Reds coach is in desperate need for more inspiration in his side after a poor season to date, and the likes of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard would welcome Cassano to Anfield.
