Cardiff City Football Club have wrapped up the purchase of Jon Parkin.

It was reported on Friday that the Preston North End striker had headed to Cardiff, to undergo a medical after the two clubs had agreed a fee of around £100,000.

And now it has been confirmed that Parkin, 29, has agreed personal terms with the Bluebirds, and he has penned a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club.

A club statement from Deepdale said: "Preston North End would like to place on record their thanks to Parkin and wish him all the best for the future."
