Aston Villa Football Club are lining up a fresh bid for Joe Lewis.

Gerard Houllier is in the market for a new goalkeeper this month, with the long-term future of veteran shot-stopper Brad Friedel of some debate.

The Villa boss has already failed with one offer for England Under-21 international Lewis, which was described as insulting by Peterborough United.

However, it is being suggested that Houllier will return with a fresh offer for the youngster, who has handed in a transfer request to leave London Road.
