Portsmouth Football Club hope to sign Nadir Belhadj permanently in January.

The Algerian international has been superb since joining Pompey on loan from French club Lens, and Tony Adams will strive to make the deal permanent when the transfer window opens.

"Nadir is a lad I want to keep at Portsmouth, he's done great for us," Adams told The News. "Hopefully in the New Year he can become part of the fixtures and fittings here.

"January would be a good time to buy him."
